Oregon’s Free Fishing Weekend

OUR NEXT FREE FISH DAY EVENT IS SCHEDULED FOR THE 1st SATURDAY IN JUNE 2022

FREE FISH DAY- the 1st Saturday in June

Fun for the whole family! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call Silverton Together at 503-873-0405.

How it Works

Silverton Together, in collaboration with the Izaak Walton League, the Silverton Kiwanis Club, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Silverton Lions Club, the Silverton Volunteer Fire Department, and the City of Silverton, hosts a Free Fish Day, where children, families and volunteers from the community come together each June at the Silverton Reservoir for a day of trout fishing and fun.

Fishing supplies and bait are provided. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife stocks the reservoir with fish. Snacks are on hand to feed hungry anglers. Fun is had by all!

Because parking is extremely limited, a shuttle bus service is provided from Roth's Family Market (First Street), Safeway Market (McClaine Street), the Silverton Historical Museum (S. Water Street), and the Church of the Nazarene (S. Water Street). Pick up times begin at 8:00 am and run every 20-30 minutes until the last return from the Reservoir loading at about 2:30 pm.

For safety reasons,  boat owners and visitors are advised that the Silverton Reservoir will be closed to all vehicle traffic between 8:00AM and 3:00PM that day.
